About us

The International Observatory on School Climate and Violence Prevention, formed in 2018 is based on the important work realized by the co-founders of the International Observatory on Violence in Schools, Eric Debarbieux and Catherine Blaya, as well as many others who have supported it during the last two decades.

Historically, the International Observatory on Violence in Schools has centered on research in order to understand and prevent school violence.

The International Observatory on School Climate and Violence Prevention is expanding its focus by two ways:

First, to comprehend and extend the initiatives of effective violence prevention, support efforts that show improvement on a universal, systemic and instructive level, designed to further the welfare, social, economic and academic development of the students, as well as to promote a secure, solid and equitative school climate attractive for the school community.
